As a dog owner, I have been through my fair share of crates. But none have impressed me as much as the Midwest Homes for Pets Ginormous Double Door 54-Inch Dog Crate. This thing is a beast! It’s perfect for my Great Dane, Rufus, who is a total giant. The double door design makes it easy for him to get in and out, and the drop pin construction ensures that he stays safe and secure inside. Plus, with 3 heavy duty slide-bolt latches per door, I never have to worry about Rufus breaking out. And let me tell you, he’s tried.
Now, if you’re like me and don’t have a ton of patience for assembly, this crate might require some extra hands. But trust me, it’s worth it. Just grab a friend or family member to help out and you’ll have it set up in no time. And while the divider panel is sold separately, I personally don’t use one for Rufus since he has plenty of space to stretch his large legs.
I have to give props to Midwest Homes for Pets for creating such a durable product. The patented “L” bar on top panel prevents the side panels from bowing inwards after assembly, which is something I’ve experienced with other crates in the past. And knowing that this company has been family owned for over 100 years gives me peace of mind that they truly care about their customers and their products. Me and Rufus are definitely fans!
Let me start off by saying that I am not easily impressed when it comes to dog crates. As an owner of a Mastiff named Brutus (yes, he lives up to his name), I need something sturdy and reliable to keep him contained when needed. The Midwest Homes for Pets Ginormous Double Door 54-Inch Dog Crate does just that and more! This crate can handle Brutus’ size with ease and the drop-pin construction ensures that he stays put.
One thing I love about this crate is the removable plastic pan at the bottom. Accidents happen (especially with big dogs), but cleaning them up has never been easier thanks to this feature. And while the divider panel is sold separately, it’s not something I need since Brutus loves having all the space to himself.
